Livorno seaside city with historic Medici fortress on the Tuscan coast

If you go to Terrazza Magnagni, a visit to the same place is worth a visit, as the Aquarium has recently been renovated.

The small beach of Castiglioncello is very pretty, mostly rocky, but its seabed and cliffs are teeming with life. The town center and waterfront are also very charming to visit.

Sterpaia Coastal Park is free for access to the natural area and public beaches, but some parking may require a fee, especially during the high summer season. You can explore the pine forest and enjoy the public beaches without paying an entrance fee, but please note that parking areas may require a fee.

Along the coastline is the Torre Mozza, built in the 16th century by the Appiani lords of Piombino as a defensive tower to monitor the arrival of minerals from the island of Elba. A dock was later built to unload lignite. Today, it is a tourist destination with several sandy beaches.

Livorno

Like Venice, it's dominated by canals and palaces. Not particularly suitable for a refreshing dip, as it's a port city, but it's very charming, with the Terrazza Mascagni and a recently renovated Aquarium. South of Livorno are several resorts (see the sea and relaxation section). A seaside area highly appreciated for its excellent water quality, its breathtaking views and its beaches, ideal for spending a relaxing day.
