Cala Violina
CALA VIOLINA (UNESCO HERITAGE SITE) (Grosseto)This location is approximately 2 and a half hours from our location. It's so called because the quartz grains that make up its sand, when walked on or moved by the wind, emit a distinctive sound reminiscent of the notes of a violin. This phenomenon is known as "sounding beach" and makes the cove a unique place, where the sand, in a relatively quiet environment, produces a crystalline and melodic sound. (Reservations required at the park authority.)
