Guided Tour of the Carrara Marble Quarries

CARRARA A relatively modern port city, but famous for its Carrara White Marble Quarries (Michelangelo's Quarries), with their murals. Expert guides are available to visit the site (online reservations required). The guided tour takes place in a 4x4. You'll be escorted into the mountain, where you'll see how the world's most sought-after marble is extracted. You'll end the tour with an aperitif in the highest quarry, enjoying a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Versilia.
